Aaahhh September. While I mourn the fleeting hot, summer days, September and October are my favorite months on Cape Cod. The weather is pleasant, the crowds fizzle out which means booking a table at our favorite restaurants or biking along the Cape Cod Rail Trail is a lot easier! Add to that, the fifth annual Cape Cod Fall for the Arts festivities, and there is yet another reason to add a trip to our little island to your fall itinerary.
Fall for the Arts is a family-friendly festival that showcases local art and culture from September 29 – October 28. Events include: live performances by local musicians; open houses at theaters, museums, and historical sites; readings and lectures; art activities for children; guided art and heritage walks; plein air painters; special art exhibits; and much more!
On September 29th, the festival kicks off with live concerts, readings, and art exhibits in four towns including Chatham. At 2 pm at Kate Gould Park in Chatham, don’t miss:
Music: Bart Weisman Smooth Jazz Group
Poet: Susan Berlin
Post concert Gallery Tour by the Chatham Artists Guild: Gallery Antonia, Focus Gallery and Nickerson Art Gallery
We hope to see you this fall whether you are here for the arts, hiking, biking, dining, or to just plain relax!
