If you happen to be visiting Chatham between October 16th and 23rd, don’t miss the town’s first annual Oktoberfest. The fall inspired festival will kick off on October 16th at Kate Gould Park downtown where “Pumpkin People” will be created by businesses, individuals and clubs and displayed until October 31st. To participate in the competition, fill out the online form. The Pumpkin People will be judged on October 23rd by local celebrity judges.
Don’t miss the festive window painting in the shop windows along Main Street. To participate in this contest, fill out the online form by October 8th. Judging takes place on October 23rd and winners will be notified by mail.
In addition to the judging on October 23rd, the main Oktoberfest event will take place downtown from 12-4. Entertainment will include live music, an apple pie eating contest, kids activities such as face painting and apple bobbing, and food vendors throughout Kate Gould Park. Plus, during the week, local restaurants will be featuring specials, tastings, and wine pairings celebrating the arrival of fall on Cape Cod.
